Brandon Soleau and Kaylee Gomez Named Rustlers Athletes of the Month
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Golden West College Athletics has announced football standout Brandon Soleau and women's soccer midfielder Kaylee Gomez as the Rustlers Male and Female Athletes of the Month for October, recognizing their exceptional performances and leadership during the early portion of the fall 2025 season.
Male Athlete of the Month – Brandon Soleau (Football)
Sophomore linebacker Brandon Soleau has been a driving force behind Golden West's undefeated 5-0 start, anchoring a Rustler defense that has been among the best in the state. Standing 6'1" and 220 pounds, the Huntington Beach High School graduate has totaled 36 tackles and one forced fumble through five games, displaying relentless pursuit and physicality at the linebacker position.
Soleau's standout moments include a 12-tackle performance in the Rustlers' 21-13 road victory at Bakersfield College and another 12-tackle, one-forced-fumble effort in a thrilling 42-35 win over Riverside College.
Female Athlete of the Month – Kaylee Gomez (Women's Soccer)
On the pitch, sophomore midfielder Kaylee Gomez has been instrumental in the Golden West College women's soccer team's strong start, contributing both offensively and defensively to the Rustlers' success. The Cypress High School product started in all nine matches, posting four goals, two assists, and 14 total points, while also notching one game-winning goal.
Gomez's impact has been felt in several key moments, including a dominant three-goal performance in a 6-0 victory over LA Harbor College and a crucial goal in the Rustlers' 1-0 road win at Antelope Valley College.
